Privacy policy
Last updated 1 November 2026
The short version: the BondKeeper app keeps everything on your phone. We don't run servers that receive your photos or details, there's no account, and there are no ads or analytics. Information only leaves your phone when you choose to share it.
Who we are
BondKeeper is an app for Australian renters, made in Brisbane. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean the developer of BondKeeper. You can contact us at [email protected].
Information the app stores on your phone
To build your condition records, the app stores:
- Property details you enter: address, state, optional nickname, lease dates, and your agent's name and email.
- Inspections, rooms, items and notes you create.
- Photos you take with the in-app camera, with each photo's SHA-256 fingerprint and capture time.
This information stays on your device, and we never receive it. Your photos and details are kept in the app's private storage on your phone, where other apps can't see or change them.
Photos are kept exactly as the camera saved them, because changing them would break their fingerprint. Like most phone photos, they can contain technical details from the camera, such as the camera model. BondKeeper never adds your location to photos.
Permissions
- Camera: to take inspection photos inside the app. The camera is only used while you're on the capture screen.
The app doesn't request access to your contacts, location or your other photos.
When information leaves your phone
Only when you choose. For example, when you share a report, Android's share menu sends it to the app and person you pick, such as your email app and your agent. When you back up your evidence or save copies of your photos to your gallery, they go where you choose, such as your phone's storage or Google Drive. What happens next is up to that app, service or recipient.
The app has no account, no cloud storage, no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools. Android's automatic app backup is switched off for BondKeeper, so your records aren't copied to a cloud backup by the app. To keep a copy, export an evidence pack and store it where you choose.
Keeping and deleting your information
Your records stay on your phone until you remove them. Uninstalling BondKeeper or clearing its storage in Android settings deletes everything the app holds, including your photos, so back up your evidence first. Backing up is always free. Android may offer to keep the app's data when you uninstall, but don't rely on it.
Copies you've saved elsewhere, such as an evidence pack in Google Drive or photos copied to your gallery, stay where you put them until you delete them.
Payments
Paid features, when available, will be sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment and we don't receive your card details. Google's own privacy policy applies to that transaction.
This website
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising, and its fonts are served from this site rather than a third party. Like all websites, it's delivered by a hosting provider (Cloudflare), which may process technical information such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site.
If you email us, for example to join the early access list, we use your email address only to reply and to tell you about BondKeeper. Ask us at any time and we'll remove it.
Children
BondKeeper is designed for adults renting a property and isn't directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling information differently, we'll update this policy and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
